Bryan Steven Romero Martinez, 29, of Chantilly, was charged with abduction, malicious wounding, robbery, and petit larceny, after being captured in Loudoun County, Prince William County police said.
Romero Martinez is believed to have broken into the Launch Circle home of a woman he knew in Manassas the morning of Monday, June 12, PWC police said.
While inside the apartment, Martinez pushed the victim then took her phone and refused to give it back. He then forced the woman into a vehicle driven by Patrick Diaz Pina, according to PWC police, and forced her to electronically transfer funds from her account.
When the men stopped in a nearby parking lot, the victim got out of the car. There, she was grabbed by Martinez and struck multiple times, authorities said.
Martinez held onto the victim as the driver began driving the vehicle and dragging the victim, police said. The parties separated and the victim contacted police at a nearby business.
Fire and rescue personnel treated the victim for minor injuries at the scene. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for both the accused, Diaz Pina and Martinez. Diaz Pina remains at large.
